Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a permit for my structure?
A common question is do I need a permit? All cities and counties vary in their requirements for permits. Diamond Outdoor of the Carolinas is not responsible for obtaining permits. You will need to contact your local permitting office for information regarding your requirements.
What is engineering?
If your area requires permitting for your structure engineering will usually be required. This entails the following:
Sealed drawings from an engineer for your specific structure.
Additional trusses, bracing, and labor. Generally the structure will go from 5' on center to 4' on center and include additional bracing.
Engineered structures are required to be built on a concrete slab with footers.
**PLEASE NOTE**
Standard pricing DOES NOT include engineering. An engineering package must be added if your local municipality requires it! You will also need to purchase footers for your concrete slab. Additional engineering costs cover the drawings for your building, and the additional labor and materials.
